Bone Densitometry
Alexandria Women’s Center physicians have a unified belief and diligent practice in managing women’s bone health. We are proactive in not just the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis but also routine prevention.
To help your doctor determine if you have osteoporosis, an x-ray bone density test (Bone Densitometry) measures the amount of calcium and minerals in a segment of bone. Our physicians identify decreases in bone density before a fall and/or fracture could happen. We offer in-clinic bone density tests for our patients’ ease and convenience. Talk to your doctor if you have any of the following osteoporosis risk factors: loss of height, fractured bones, drop in hormone levels, or if you are taking certain medications like steroid therapy. Some medications and diseases can cause bone loss and increase your risk of osteoporosis.
Clinical Laboratory
Lab testing is a significant part of our healthcare system and factors into 70 percent of medical decisions. These laboratory tests allow us to obtain more personalized and accurate information about your health and give you better treatment. Ultrasound
Alexandria Women’s Center is a leader in providing patients with current ultrasound technology. We offer full service, in-house traditional ultrasounds, and 4D studies with 2 High Definition. Our 4D units deliver immediate results with same-day gynecologic and obstetrical imaging. These ultrasounds allow live streaming video of 3D ultrasound images, which show the motion of the various moving organs. No, wait, no worries.
Mammography
Our in-office 3D Mammography suite is another step in offering our patients the most advanced healthcare available to women.
