Wellness Examinations
Your annual wellness visit is a good time for you and your doctor to share information and discuss your wishes for your health care. Including problems with sex or birth control, pelvic pain, or abnormal bleeding. You can also discuss testing for STIs (sexually transmitted infections), getting the vaccines you need, having your blood pressure checked, and other general medical issues. This can also be a great time to have a conversation with your doctor about whether you need a breast exam or Pap smear.

Menopausal symptoms can be disruptive and can include hot flashes, night sweats and interrupted sleep among other symptoms which are due to decreasing levels of estrogen. The best time to schedule a consultation is 3 – 6 months before you’re considering conceiving a child. It’s also best to bring your medical history with you. Sonohysterography
Sonohysterography, also known as saline infusion sonography, is a minimally invasive ultrasound technique that provides an overall image of the inside of the uterus. This procedure can be performed at Alexandria Women’s Center to evaluate unexplained vaginal bleeding and infertility due to uterine abnormalities.

Hysteroscopy with LINA Hysteroscope
Hysteroscopy is a common and relatively quick procedure (typically between 5 and 30 minutes) that allows your doctor to look inside your uterus. The LiNA hysteroscope is a thin tube with a camera that is used to examine your uterus without incisions. This procedure is commonly performed to examine pelvic pain, infertility, biopsies, polyps, fibroids, removal of an intrauterine device (IUD), and scar tissue.
