Hi, my name is Karie LaFleur and I’m a physician here at Alexandria Women’s Center. We are excited to bring a new option to our menu of services, and Secret RF is one of the newer generation of technologies that involves both micro needling and radio frequency energy. It allows us to purposefully cause some damage to collagen under the surface of the skin and allow that collagen to then remodel, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and improving scars, such as acne scars, or surgical scars like a C-section scar.

We can treat multiple areas of the body including the face, the neck, the décolletage. We can treat areas over the knee, over the elbow, even all the way down to C-section scars. So really, it’s a very multi-purpose, multi-functional tool to help women, or men, in multiple areas where they have concerns.

In the past, the gold-standard option was a laser treatment of the face. And if you do a thorough laser treatment of your face you typically have about five to seven days of downtime. The Secret RF procedure takes typically three or four procedures for most people to achieve the same result, but there’s no downtime, so you can do this at the end of the day or on your lunch break. Your face may be a little pink like you had a workout, or were out in the sun. And after that third treatment, the collagen will continue to remodel for three to six months so you will continue to see improvement in the quality of your face. The average person comes back once a year has one treatment, and that allows the collagen to continually remodel, and allows you to keep all of the progress you’ve made with the three treatments that you’ve had already.
