Urodynamic Studies
urinary incontinence and overactive bladder studies
Alexandria Women's Center is pleased to be one of the first OB/GYN practices in Central Louisiana to offer full scale in office urodynamic studies for the diagnosis and management of urinary incontinence and overactive bladder. Aware of the sensitivity of this condition, our studies are performed discretely and privately by certified RNs, and are professionally interpreted by Board Certified Urogynecologists. Our program allows our physicians, in conjunction with Urogynecologists, to readily formulate and advise of the correct medical or surgical intervention for your specific condition.
Urological Tests
Urological tests are most frequently done on men with enlarged prostate glands; however women should also seek testing if they are struggling with incontinence. Any patient experiencing neuropathy should also be tested, as the pressures caused by this condition can be dangerous. Urodynamics can help us identify problems if you are having any of the following symptoms:
- Urine leaks/controlling your urine
- Bladder not emptying all the way
- The need to urinate too often
- The need to urinate suddenly
- Weak urine flow
- Urine flow stopping and starting (intermittent)
- Getting urinary tract infections often
Urological studies will aid us in getting objective and accurate testing information. This will allow our Board Certified Urogynecologists to give you better advice as to what treatment you should receive.
